Studies on the Storability of Hand-hauled and Machine-hauled Sunnhemp Seeds (Crotolaria juncea Linn.)

Aim: The present investigation is an attempt to study the effect of different harvesting and threshing methods on storability sunnhemp seed.
 Study Design: Factorial Completely Randomized Design (FCRD).
 Place Duration Study: Agricultural Engineering College Research Institute, TNAU, Kumulur, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu.
 Methodology: seed crop was harvested threshed using four viz., manual threshing, mechanical by tractor treading combine harvester. resultant seeds were stored under ambient conditions in both cloth bag super grain containers with 12.0 per cent 8 moisture content respectively. experiment designed adopting FCRD eight replications. quality parameters recorded at monthly intervals upto 12 months assess storability. content, health, germination percentage, root shoot length, dry matter production vigour index calculated.
 Results: result revealed 12% for initial month increased up 13.76% 12th whereas 8% 8.78% month. Seeds obtained method registered maximum percentage (93% & 94%)followed (91% 92%).The minimum (89% 90%). Between containers, maintained highest (92%) while lowest observed (91%). Seed health test that no incidence noticed storage.
 Conclusion: From this it could be concluded reduced packed above certification standards twelve storage.
